About the Customer
Kloeckner Metals is a 50+ years strong steel and metal distributor headquartered in Georgia. It is the 4th largest service center company in North America with 50 locations servicing 8,000 businesses in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
Business Challenge
With an expansive clientele and business operations across several states, Kloeckner Metals’ leadership was looking to accelerate the release of credit hold on sales orders when a payment is received from their cash collection software.
Solution
Vigilant developed an automated solution to locate COD hold orders in the client’s order system, download payment data from the cash collection platform, and perform a series of lookups to release the hold on the order. The automation was also finding partial matches to alert the processing team. Unmatched items were retried on the next run.

Outcome
The automation helped reduce unnecessary delays in the start of the order fulfillment process and ultimately improved customer service on these orders. It has also eliminated approximately 420 hours per year spent on working with third party resources.
