Challenge
CentroMotion operates 29 manufacturing locations running six different ERP systems. Demand forecasting was performed manually with spreadsheets at each site. The result: inconsistent forecasts and limited visibility across product families and geographies. CentroMotion needed a unified demand planning solution that could integrate all data sources for efficient enterprise-wide planning.
Solution
Vigilant deployed a cloud demand planning platform to centralize forecasting across all CentroMotion locations and ERP systems. It combines sales, customer, and statistical inputs with several years of history to generate a single demand plan. Automated integrations link the platform with legacy ERPs, removing spreadsheets. Dashboards, KPIs, forecast accuracy checks, and train-the-trainer sessions support phased rollout.
From Manual Spreadsheets to Multi-Plant Blueprint: Phased Modernization with Oracle Cloud
CentroMotion sought to transform demand forecasting from a manual, planner-driven process into a standardized, system-driven planning capability that could scale across its diverse manufacturing footprint.
CentroMotion partnered with Vigilant to design and implement Oracle Cloud Demand Planning, integrating six ERP sources and harmonizing forecasting across product families, customers, geographies, and time horizons.
The implementation enabled CentroMotion to load sales forecasts, customer forecasts, and historical shipment and booking data into a single demand planning platform. Oracle’s statistical forecasting capabilities were configured to generate baseline forecasts, measure forecast accuracy, and support planner overrides at multiple aggregation levels. The solution supports monthly, weekly, and daily forecasting views, with the final approved forecast fed back into legacy ERP systems for downstream supply planning.
Vigilant executed the project through a structured delivery model, including requirements workshops, prototype demonstrations, multiple testing cycles, user acceptance testing, and production deployment.
Standard Oracle dashboards and reports were enabled, supplemented by up to three custom reports, and CentroMotion superusers were trained to operate and extend reporting using Oracle’s built-in analytics tools.
