Vigilant was founded in 1999 by Srini Pillarisetty, a young Oracle consultant who saw an opportunity to better serve companies. He founded SP Technologies, which would later become Vigilant.
When clients chose Vigilant, they tended to become lasting customers, and ones that frequently referred new business. This cycle has allowed the company to grow consistently since then. In 2004, Srini changed the company’s name to Vigilant Technologies, a branding decision driven a customer impressed with the company’s diligence
In 2005, Vigilant opened a new headquarters to Troy, Michigan, while its thriving office in Canada continued to grow. Although it was part of Srini’s goal to move back to the States, it was a difficult time in the Michigan economy as the automakers were in the midst of major financial losses with restructuring efforts underway.
Srini was determined to overcome the challenging conditions, and worked long and hard hours, winning new customers across the United States. He landed a few key clients that helped him to grow through the downturn at that time, Tuba City Regional Health Care, a health system in Arizona, and Doner, an advertising agency based in Southfield, Michigan.
During the recession that soon followed in 2008-2009, Vigilant acquired Elite Software Quality Services, Inc., a staffing company that specialized in Oracle talent and had a facility with seasoned talent in Hyderabad, India. By then, the company had 85 employees and 30 North American clients, including Barrick Gold Corp., the world’s largest mining company, American Axle & Manufacturing Inc., International Automotive Components Group LLC (IAC) and W.B. Doner & Co.
In 2016, Vigilant acquired Unitask, a company that delivers a set of process automation solutions for Oracle E-Business Suite users.
Today, Vigilant remains privately held and continues to grow, with more than 250 employees worldwide.
The company has diversified its expertise and offerings. In addition to its traditional Oracle consulting services and application managed services, where remote DBA services remain in high demand, Vigilant offers cloud consulting services and automation solutions, such as robotic process automation (RPA). Vigilant also remains a quality provider of
premier, niche technology talent across North America.
